Bruce William “Bacon” Becker, age 50, of the Town of Waumandee, passed away unexpectedly and tragically on Friday, June 3, 2016 on the farm.
Bruce was born on December 3, 1965 in Wabasha, MN, a son of Delma Denison Becker and the late Boyd Becker.
He attended Cochrane-Fountain City schools, graduating with the C-FC class of 1984.
On April 16, 1994, Bruce was united in marriage to Sheila Monson at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Alma. To this union, four loving daughters were born.
Bruce was a lifelong farmer and was proud to be the third generation of Beckers to farm the land in the Town of Waumandee.
In his spare time, Bruce enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bruce will be remembered for his larger than life personality and presence. It wasn’t the size of the physical man; it was the size of his heart and personality that captured a room. Quite honestly, to know Bruce was to love Bruce. Besides the love for his wife, Sheila, the love for his four girls had no imaginable definition. Bruce left this earth, anticipating the arrival of his first grandchild, a baby girl.
Bruce will be sadly missed by his wife of the past 22 years, Sheila of the Town of Waumandee; four beautiful daughters, Caitlin (Cody) Wolfe of Fountain City, Taylor Becker, Lindsey Becker and Jeana Becker all of the Town of Waumandee; his mother, Delma Becker and brother, Brian both of the Town of Waumandee; father and mother in law, Gaylord & Linda Monson of Buffalo City; sister in law, Stacey (Tony) Degnan of Winona; nieces and nephew, Addyson and Liam Degnan and USMC recruit Donari Brandes, stationed at Parris Island, SC; also by aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Boyd.
Visitation will be held at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Cochrane on Thursday, June 9 at 4:00PM to 7:00PM. A funeral service will be at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fountain City, WI on Friday, June 10 at 11:00AM with an hour of visitation prior. Burial will follow at Yaeger Valley Cemetery, Town of Waumandee. Pastor Gregory Ferriss will officiate.
