Beulah Jane Schreiner, age 91, of Mondovi, formerly of Alma, passed away early Sunday evening, August 28, 2016 at the American Lutheran Home, Mondovi.
She was born on October 30, 1924 in rural Mondovi, a daughter of Curtis and Cora (Swanson) Nyre.
Beulah attended schools in Gilmanton and was a graduate of the Gilmanton High School.
On July 28, 1944 Beulah was united in marriage to Boyce E. Schreiner in Gilmanton. To this union, six children were born. Boyce preceded Beulah in death in March of 1995.
Beulah worked as a waitress at the Alma Hotel and the Nelson Hotel, both for many years. She also worked in Winona at WinCraft and Winona Industries. Her main and most rewarding career was being a mom.
She was a longtime, faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Alma where she would graciously donate her handmade knitting and crocheted creations.
Beulah will be sadly missed by her children, Chari (Dennis) Brandl of Eau Claire, Susan Schreiner of Winona, Harry “Butch” (Cheryl) Schreiner of Mondovi, Peg (John Zielinski) Schreiner of Oakdale, MN, Bruce (Kathy) Schreiner of Tempe, AZ and Michael (Annette) Schreiner of Lynnwood, WA; grandchildren, Curt, Kelly, Brian, Jessica, Amanda, John, Ryan, Casey and Alyssa; great grandchildren, Sydney, Madison, Kylie, Drew, Alex, Samantha, Harry and Lola; sister in law, Harriett Engler; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Beulah was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Boyce; sister, Thema Schultz and a grandson, Eric McElmury.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 1:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Alma with Pastor Joel Bacon officiating. Burial will be at the Gilmanton Cemetery. A time of visitation and support for Beulah's family will be held on Saturday at the church from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service.
