Bernard “Bernie” Malchaski, age 67 of Fountain City, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the American Lutheran Home, Mondovi. He was born on December 14, 1952, the son of Ralph and Eunice Malchaski. Bernie worked at the Red Owl while in High School and later worked at St. Mary’s University until he retired in August 2016. He married Marie Gabrick on June 3, 1972 and they adopted their son, Josh.
Some of Bernie’s favorites include the Green Bay Packers, Hunting, Golfing and Fishing with his son. He also enjoyed Bus trips after his retirement. Bernie enjoyed watching movies with his family. Bernie’s wife and daughter-in-law watched, “The Christmas Card” with Bernie shortly before he passed away.
Bernie was a wonderful man with a big heart. His two grandchildren were the light of his life. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bernie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marie; son, Josh (Jackie); grandchildren, Zoey and Adam; brother, Joseph (Joan); sister, Jane (Rudy); nieces and nephews; other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Town of Buffalo Park, Bluff Siding on Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.
