Arnold John Prissel, age 81, of Mondovi passed away at Dove Healthcare – West in Eau Claire on Friday, December 23, 2016 having had dementia.
Born on October 19, 1935 in Lima to the late Henry and Lucy (Bauer) Prissel, Arnie moved to Racine after high school. He was called to serve at Fort Lewis, WA as a medic in the Army National Guard in 1962. Arnie then met and later married his wife, Arleen Bollinger on February 23, 1963 in Gilmanton. He spent most of his life working as a machinist and farmer. Arnie was a member of Eleva Lutheran Church and proudly served the Forrest-Gunderson-Klevgard American Legion, Post 264 in Gilmanton, Wisconsin.
Arnie’s life is celebrated by his wife of 53 years, Arleen of Mondovi; three children: Steve (Phyllis) Prissel of Bremerton, WA, Karen Quinn of Altoona, and Eric (Penny) Prissel of Siren; local grandchildren Avonlea (Andy) Hanson of Eau Claire, Dillon Todahl of Eau Claire, and Andreas Quinn of Altoona; sister Margie Bollinger of Gilmanton, sister Carol (Larry) Carothers of Durand, sister-in-law Doris Prissel of Mondovi as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Arnie was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill, sisters Annabelle (Charles) Richmond, DeLores (Richard) Lietke, and Dorothy (Robert) Driver along with respective brothers-in-law, including Arde Bollinger.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 11:00 AM in Eleva at the Eleva Lutheran Church, Pastor Robert Castro officiating. Inurnment will follow at Gilmanton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Talbot Funeral Home, Mondovi and one hour prior to funeral service at the church on Wednesday.
