Arlis Leigh “Arlie” Everson, age 82 of Cochrane died Sunday June 9, 2013 at Winona Manor. Arlie was born in Eau Claire, WI on October 13, 1930 to Clarence and Cora (Thorson) Everson. He was baptized on November 5, 1930 at Thompson Valley Lutheran Church in Mondovi, WI. Arlis enlisted and proudly served his country in the Army from 1951 to 1953. He married May Belle Greenwood at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi on October 31, 1953 and to this union three children were born. Arlie attended and earned his bachelor degree in education in Eau Claire and then acquired a master degree from Winona State. He began his teaching career and later became principal in Cochrane-Fountain City school district from 1957 -1990. Although he was dedicated to his career, his true devotion was always his family. He was involved with many community organizations, including the Lions Club, the volunteer fire department, and the Cochrane Village Board. Arlie’s joys in life were traveling with his family and playing football with his kids at half time of the Packer games. He will truly be missed by his wife May Belle, his children Cindy (Douglas) Hale, Michael (Cindy) Everson, and Lee (Therese) Everson. He will also forever in the hearts of his grandchildren Geoffrey, Andrew, Christopher, Bryan, Christina, and Julia, and by nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Arlie was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Elaine Sims, and granddaughter Rebecca Everson. No formal services will be held. Talbot Family Funeral Homes/ Scenic Rivers Cremation Center assisted the family with arrangements.
