Angeline Louise Schoenberger, age 91, of Alma, WI, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 31st, 2023.
Angeline, daughter of Joseph and Victoria Sosalla, was born in 1931 in Whitehall, WI. Angie grew up with 9 older brothers on their family farm where she played softball, drove tractor, and enjoyed being outdoors. Angie graduated from Independence High School. She married James Schoenberger 1951 where he was awaiting deployment to Korea. Angie spent most of her married life in Alma.
Angie worked at the Alma High School as a secretary for years and then began working at the Bank of Alma. Angie worked at the Alma Bank for over 40 years retiring at the age of 80.
Angie was a devoted mother and grandmother who was always there for her family. Angie was there to listen, engage in conversation, and spoil her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Her smile, laughter, and fun personality provided a moment for those passing through the bank to say hello.
Angie loved going on car rides to see the beautiful countryside and look for deer. She loved spending time at her great grandchildren's school events and sports. Angie would spend hours mowing, manicuring the landscape and enjoying her beautiful flower garden.
Angie will be dearly missed by her daughter, Debra Ann (Schoenberger) Mikelson of Buffalo City. Granddaughter, Melissa Mikelson (Bruce Mikelson) of Stratford, their children Jaykob and Ian. Grandson, Eric Mikelson (Stacy) of Alma.
Angie was preceded in death by her husband, James Schoenberger in 1983, her son Douglas Schoenberger in 1998 and her 9 brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Alma WI, on Saturday, June 24th, 2023 with Father Doss officiating. Visitation will be a 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00PM. A celebration for Angie will be held following the Mass in the basement of the church.
