Alton Joseph Mork

Alton Joseph Mork, age 90, of Buffalo City, WI passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Plum City Care Center. He was born on September 7, 1922, a son of the late Anton and Hannah Josephine (Hanson) Mork. Alton was united in marriage to Mildred Olm and to this union, six children were born. Alton was employed at Dairyland Power Cooperative for 37 years. Along with his employment at Dairyland, he also farmed from 1958 until 1993 in the Tell area. Alton was a longtime, faithful and devoted member of St. John Lutheran church in Alma where he served on the property committee and was at one time the church council president. As a civic minded man, Alton also gave his time serving on the Town of Alma board. Alton will be remembered for always tinkering or trying to fix something. He enjoyed gardening and being outdoors, but his greatest enjoyment and fulfillment in his life was the time spent with his entire family. Alton's legacy and love he gave as a husband, dad and grandpa will live on in their hearts forever. Alton will be forever missed by his wife, Mildred, his children Sonia (Harry) Feinberg of Maple Grove, MN, Karen (Robert) Shaw of Buffalo City, WI, Curtis (Rhonda) Mork of Madison, WI, Noreen Brewer of Spooner, WI, Patricia (Rev. Daniel) Carlson of Northwoods, SD, Alan (Barbara) Mork of El Paso, TX, twelve grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Irene (Glenn) Hermann of Tucson, AZ, Edward (Joanie) Mork of Tucson, AZ, Evelyn Ford of Tucson AZ, Marian McGrew of Sierra Vista, AZ, Marilyn (Dr. Eric) Wilson of Oshkosh, WI, Gaylord (Priscilla) Mork of Caro, MI, and Gary (Joyce) Mork of Tucson, AZ. Alton was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bernard, Melvin, Marvin, and Donald. Also by brother in laws, Gerald Ford and Willis McGrew. A Memorial Gathering will be at St. John Lutheran Church in Alma on Monday January 21 at 11:30 AM until the time of Service at 1:00 PM.
