Agnes Louise Kent, age 90,of Mondovi, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully at her residence on Monday, April 16.
Agnes was born on November 24, 1921 in the Town of Naples, Buffalo County, a daughter to the late Albert and Emma (Johnson) Bruvold.
On March 20, 1943 Agnes was united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church, Norden to the love of her life, Clayton Kent, whom knew in an instant that Agnes would someday be his wife. To this union four children were born. Clayton preceded Agnes in death on October 17, 1980.
Agnes worked side by side with her husband on the farm they owned in rural Gilmanton. She found such satisfaction in farming and being able to stay at home to raise her family.
As proud as Agnes was to be a loving caretaker and homemaker for her family, she later found similar pride as a home healthcare provider for families in the area through Gundersen Lutheran and Gemini home health, retiring in 2004. Agnes was a lady who took care of others and thought of their needs before her own. Her heart and love will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
Agnes will be dearly missed by her four children, Merle (Sharon) Kent of Gilmanton, Larry (Kathy) Kent of Fall Creek, Chuck (Bonnie) Kent of Gilmanton and Beth (Fred) Zahara of Mondovi; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, one sister Marjorie (Ray) Christianson of Mondovi; one brother in law, Howard Whipps of Mondovi; former daughter in law Rosemary Kent of Modena; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and her loving husband, Clayton, two brothers and their wives, Alvin (Elma) and Elmer (Margaret)and two sisters, Dolores (Arlie) Bloss and Ruth Whipps, sisters in law, Eva, Alice and Fannie; all by preceded Agnes in death.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 1:30 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, rural Mondovi with Pastor David Bangert officiating. Burial will follow at Gilmanton Cemetery.
